Timber Floor Sanding & Polishing Redcliffe

‍ ‍

Redcliffe's mostly post-war weatherboard homes and established brick houses from the 1970s and 80s often have solid timber floors underneath, even where they've been covered over or left worn for years. Dyna Floors has been restoring Brisbane timber floors since 2012, and Redcliffe is one of the many suburbs we regularly work in.

Floor sanding costs in Redcliffe generally sit between $45–$90/m², most jobs around $55–$75/m².

Restoring Redcliffe's timber floors

Many Redcliffe homes were built from the post-war years through to the 1970s and 80s boom, so the timber underneath varies from softer softwoods in older weatherboard cottages to sturdier hardwood boards in later builds. Floors that look dull, faded or covered in old coatings can usually be sanded back to bare timber and re-coated rather than replaced.

‍ ‍

Being a bayside suburb, homes in Redcliffe can also cop a bit more from salt air and humidity over the years, which is worth factoring into the right coating choice for long-term durability. We'll talk you through what's suited to your specific floor when we quote the job.

Coastal weather is hard on decks, so we sand and re-coat decks across Redcliffe as well.

Staining, lime washing and finishes

If you're after a particular look — richer tones for a classic feel, or something lighter and more coastal — we apply custom test samples directly on your floor during the job, so you can see the true colour on your actual timber before committing to a finish.

‍ ‍

For the coating itself, we offer raw/ultra-matte, satin, semi-gloss and high-gloss options, in both non-toxic and low-VOC systems. Read more about our non-toxic and low-VOC finishes.
